As many of you read in this post the other day, I’m currently unemployed. Luckily, I was planning for it and I’ve got a few options coming up on the horizon.
It’s weird being unemployed. I sit around on the job boards, apply to everything that looks interesting (qualified or not) and snuggle with the kitties. For now, everything feels like one long weekend.
I don’t want it to stay that way.
While I am really, stupidly, insanely happy to have some time off…I want to use it wisely. Being a bit money-conscious at the moment, I’ll likely be out drinking a lot less…and cooking my own food a lot more. I’m taking this as an opportunity to start fresh and give my body a bit of a reboot.
That means more healthy foods, lots of water and a good amount of running during the week. I’m going to try and make it to the gym a couple times a week (so long as I have my unlimited metro card) to get in some cross-training as well.
Here’s where you guys come in on all of this:
I’ve got a couple of books I want to read over the next few weeks…so I’m making those a priority in my life as well (gotta keep the brain working while I’m not!).
Today I have two more phone interviews (one of them is a second round, whee!). I’m excited about the prospect of finding something that makes me happy — and makes me feel more like myself, no matter how many hours I spend in the office.
Here’s to new beginnings and a happier, healthier me.
